What they say:
THE TRUTH CAN’T HIDE FOREVER
To protect Logan, I have no choice but to deceive him.
But I’m not the only one hiding the truth.
Will our love survive all the secrets and lies?
Enemy alien ships crowd the skies over Earth while the world waits with bated breath. The Saven have been exposed, and where once they were abhorred, they are now championed as our greatest ally and our only possible savior.
Logan and Sadie have been separated, and the longer he is gone, the more their love is tested by duty, doubts, and deception.
Sadie and Jarod have infiltrated the highest levels of government, but they are playing a dangerous game. Surrounded by people with conflicting agendas—hell-bent on using her for their own aim—Sadie is confused when the lines between good and evil are blurred. It’s impossible to tell friend from foe, and no one can be trusted.
When the full extent of the experiments taking place in Sector Twenty is disclosed, Sadie can no longer sit back and watch as the lower classes face a horrific fate. Racing to save her loved ones and mankind, she risks her own safety and the love she’s waited a lifetime for to do the right thing.
But no one thought to save her from herself.
The review: Let me first direct you to my gush about the amazing Siobhan Davis in the first of this, The Saven Series, here . In this book we see Sadie without Logan, who is fulfilling his duty as the Crown Prince of the Saven. We get to know a host of characters, as before I loved Jarod, but loved Hayden too!
The funny thing about these books is that everyone seems to have feelings that Sadie is special, but you’re actually with them, to me she never got tiresome. She is up to her usual kickass stuff (I know, not very professional of me, but I do have a bit of a girl crush on her), and her and Jarod set off to walk straight into danger.
I can’t give away too much, mainly because as this is the second book I’m afraid I’ll give spoilers, as I’m not a dystopian reader and so don’t know what’s acceptable to give away or not, but I will say that the action here is second to none and I was actually nervous as to who was going to get caught and what would happen. The world was visible to me and the whole thing read like the most epic action film, I was fully immersed and stayed up very late reading. I loved that we were introduced to a new race and also that I didn’t get confused with all the characters, they were differentiated enough that I got to know them all. One of my biggest pluses, though, was that I read this as part of the box set and so could continue to binge! And binge I did!
Rating: 5/5 and recommended to the world (Go back to book 1 first, though!)!
